THE accolades keep flowing in for David Walsh's ground-breaking Museum of Old and New Art,longchamp.

The spectacular MONA building at Berriedale has been named as a finalist in two categories for the Property Council of 2012 Innovation and Excellence Awards,oakley sunglasses.

The development is up for both the Best Tourism and Leisure Development and Best Public Building awards.

Owner Mr Walsh said he wanted the architects (headed by Melbourne architect Nonda Katsalidis) to design a building that celebrated their artists' skills but also the joy of difference,Coach Outlet.

"At MONA we want our visitors to see the commonplace in exceptional circumstances," Mr Walsh said.

"So our brief was, in essence, to deliver a building that could command attention but simultaneously recede from view. MONA encapsulates this contradiction,gucci outlet.

Charles Street Developments is a finalist in the Best Mixed Use Development category for the $38 million redevelopment of the old Launceston General Hospital into the Charles Hotel and Apartments.

The JAC Group's Sam Tucker is a finalist for the Future Leader of the Year award for his work on the project,Gucci Outlet.

"The achievements of these finalists are outstanding and showcase what Tasmania's biggest industry delivers to our community highly skilled leaders and projects, which are cutting-edge and nationally competitive,cheap true religion," the executive director of the Property Council of Australia's Tasmania division Mary Massina said.

The award winners will be announced at the 2012 Property Council of Australia/Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards Gala Dinner in Sydney tomorrow night. Related articles:
