Born in Natchez and raised in Vicksburg, Shaw would go on to play at Georgia Tech before being drafted in 1961 by both the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League and the Buffalo Bills of the America Football League.
The Cowboys wanted to move him to linebacker. The Bills planned to keep him at his natural guard position on the offensive line. He chose the latter and spent all nine years of his illustrious career in Buffalo. Yet his lasting impact comes back to his induction in Canton.
"There is a 'Billy Shaw Rule'", admitted Shaw. "When they bring in the new guys to be inducted, give them all the rules and regulations, the very first one, do not forget your wife."
While his mind slipped on that hot day in August of 1999, he hasn't forgot his roots,celine handbag. Shaw was back in Vicksburg as part of Allstate's Hometown Hall of Famers.
