"Much of Pygmalion revolves around a very divided class system. One of the play's themes is close to Shaw's beliefs that people should not be limited by birth or environment."
The comedy is Patricia's tenth play as director at the George Street theatre,Tory Burch shoes, where she is also an actress.
"I cannot remember how many shows I have acted in over the years there," she admits.
After winning the best director award for Roses of Eyam in 2011 she decided to retire.
"But when I was asked to direct Pygmalion I could not resist,Gucci Outlet.
"It's such a wonderful play," she says.
"I has been a real pleasure to work with a good cast to bring the characters of a different age to life."
The role of the egocentric professor is taken by Robert Goll,Louis Vuitton Handbags, whose past performances have included the title role in last year's Nanda-award-winning production of Shakespeare's Macbeth, as well as Dame Maxine Miller in last year's pantomime Puss In Boots.
Eliza Doolittle is played by Jessica Nicklin, who has appeared in musicals such as Sweet Charity for the People's Theatre Company and alongside Robert in Much Ado About Nothing.
The production is a milestone for Eve Gurd, who plays Mrs Pearce, the housekeeper for Higgins, as it's her 60th year on the Nottingham Arts Theatre stage.

"Mrs Pearce likes to think that she has some influence over the running of his household,Prada Outlet."
Patricia says she could have cast the parts three times over as the open auditions attracted dozens of company members from across the East Midlands.
"There were many who wanted to be part of this well-known play."
She adds: "Rehearsals went very well and excitement was bubbling over within the cast."
Pygmalion, which opened at the theatre last night, is probably best known from the film musical My Fair Lady,Hogan, starring Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn, which picked up eight Academy Awards in 1964, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Rex Harrison) and Best Director (George Cukor).
Patricia says: "Whilst the musical is filled with excellent, memorable songs, the original play has a special quality all of its own.
"It's full of wonderful language which allows you to really appreciate the themes of how people's perceptions of others coloured by accent and manners,cheap true religion." Related articles:
