The narrative structure of "Witless Protection" is overlyfamiliar and cliched. The humor lacks sophistication, and thefilmmaking techniques are pedestrian at best.Wait a minute. And if you like his hillbilly humor, you'llprobably find some guffaws in "Witless Protection." Conversely, ifyou think Larry's inane Tory Burch Flip Flops, well there's absolutely no reason for youto see the picture.Here's the setup for Larry's latest cinematic masterpiece:He's Deputy Larry Stadler, a small town Southern sheriff'sdeputy who is adept at disarming rednecks in a hostage situationwith a horse, but hasn't shown enough flash to get promoted.Attached to waitress Connie (Jenny McCarthy), Larry's happy as ahog in slop tory burch handbags, especially when he's hanging out with his equallyjuvenile buddies (including Austin swamp blues singer Omar KentDykes).Then our intrepid officer spots a black SUV in whichblack-suited men are keeping a close eye on a beautiful woman.Larry convinces himself that Madeleine (Ivana Milicevic) has beenkidnapped. So he snatches her away from her captors, only todiscover that they are FBI agents who are taking her to Chicago totestify against a corrupt corporate titan, who happens to be herformer boss.But the actions of the FBI, led by Alonzo Mosley (Yaphet Kotto)rouse the suspicions of Larry DC hi tops, who wants to be a fed and knowstheir procedures.
