Wednesday. The Grizzlies grabbed 24 recruits while the Bobcats nabbed 20. The Bobcats, though, seemed to win the in-state battle with 11 Treasure State products to the Grizzlies' eight. Included in that list is two of the previous four Gatorade football players of the year -- Helena Capital running back Gunnar Brekke and Nevada transfer Tanner Roderick, who quarterbacked Bozeman High to a state title in 2009. The Cats and Griz waged a pretty good fight for Brekke, but in the end. Still, both programs appeared to secure some stellar signees. As we watch, and wait, to see how these recruiting classes pan out down the road, here's a look at the four-year guys I'm most excited about watching. MONTANA TRESHAWN FAVORS, RB, 5-9, 175, GLENDALE, ARIZ.
Favors rushed for more than 1,000 yards and 12 TDs in his senior season at Mountain Ridge High School in 2012, one year after missing much of his junior year with an injury. Favors chose Montana over two-time defending FCS champion North Dakota State, which is a big deal. Coach Mick Delaney loves Favors' speed, and says he could have a dynamic impact in UM's running game in the coming years.
RYAN McKINLEY, DB, 6-1, 187, ANTHEM, ARIZ.
Delaney said one of UM's biggest recruiting priorities was finding more size and speed in the defensive backfield. McKinley, a product of Boulder Creek High School, is another player the Griz beat North Dakota State for, and his size allows him to be either a cornerback or a safety. Delaney also noted McKinley's physicality, calling him a "big-time" player.
ZACH VIS, WR, 6-3, 185, LYNDEN, WASH.
The numbers tell the story: Vis racked up 52 catchces for 929 yards and 10 TDs for Lynden High School last season, making him a top-prospect from the state of Washington (word is the Huskies wanted him). Vis had 271 receiving yards in the Class 2A title game this fall. In his career,http://www.douuo.com/burberry.html/, Vis had 157 catches for 2,579 yards and 28 touchdowns. Huge statistics indeed.
MONTANA STATE GUNNAR BREKKE, RB, 5-11,Toms Shoes Sale, 188, HELENA CAPITAL
Now that the in-state recruiting battle for Brekke is over (MSU outgunned UM in the end) it's time to see what the kid can do. Bobcats coach Rob Ash said Brekke will be given a shot at running back, the position where he became the state's top prospect in 2012,Tory Burch sale. Brekke, who rushed for 2,415 career yards at Capital, won the Class AA offensive MVP nod in both his junior and seniors years.?
NICK LaSANE, RB, 5-11, 200,Gucci Outlet Online, DALLAS,Prada handbags, TEXAS
LeSane injured his knee midway through in his senior season at Lovejoy High School, but will be ready to go by the time he gets to Bozeman. But he'd done big damage before that, rushing for 2,349 career yards with 27 TDs. LaSane averaged 8.9 yards per carry. Ash refers to LaSane is a "power back," and he should get plenty of opportunities with the ball in his hands in the near future.
JAYSHAWN GATES-MOUTON, WR, 5-8, 150, PALO ALTO, CALIF.
Gates-Mouton,beats headphones, out of Palo Alto High School, is one of the few four-year recruits Ash said could see the field next year. Though small in stature, oakley sunglasses, Gates-Mouton has a ton of speed, and could end up being a major big-play threat in the Bobcats' offense, beats by dre. Ash wanted MSU to find a guy who could really get out and go, "and Jayshawn is all of that," the coach said. Related articles:
