Fewer Women in Web Design

If it didn matter then there would be no need for all the women groups that are forming. Clearly something is missing in a mixed group setting. We should all be equal by now and not needing to break off into all women groups,evening dresses with sleeves.

What happens in a mixed group setting happens at work. Bullet point thinking is corporate speak and arguably male speak. Once you out of the office, women can go back to thinking and acting like women and guys will be guys. The difference is, guys don change in/out of the office and women do. I like to think I am gender-blind - I value attention to detail and thoroughness above all else. (*I a female business owner; could you guess?! lol :) )

Problem is; the last 2 freelance guys I hired to do coding for me - both of whom were mid 20s - were so sloppy and left so many loose ends that I ended up having to go through and rigorously check their work; the whole experience made me really scrutinise the people I hire to do work for me. I can say for sure whether the work they produce is any better in terms of its end result, but I do prefer the detailed thorough approach. I also like the way we communicate frequently - makies me feel I have a handle on what is going on their side - which unfortunately I never had with the guys who quite often went awol leaving me with a near nervous breakdown.
