EZ-PD™ CCG2 is a USB Type-C controller that complies with the latest USB Type-C and PD standards. EZ-PD CCG2 provides acomplete USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery port control solution for passive cables, active cables, and powered accessories. Itcan also be used in many upstream and downstream facing port applications.EZ-PD CCG2 uses Cypress’s proprietary M0S8technology with a 32-bit, 48-MHz ARM® Cortex®-M0 processor with 32-KB flash and integrates a complete Type-C Transceiverincluding the Type-C termination resistors RP, RD and RA.

CCG2 60W汽车充电器参考设计

The CCG2 60W Car Charger Reference Design Board is a receptacle based USB-C Charger with USB PD 2.0 and QC 3.0 (Class –A and Class –B) support. In the PD mode, it supports 5V@3A, 7V@3A, 8V@3A, 9V@3A, 12V@3A, 15V@3A and 20V@3A output.  The board can be programmed to support any output voltage between 0 to 20V with 100mV resolution. It is designed to work with standard Car Lighter Attachment (CLA). It works with any DC input between 4V to 24V.
The two major components on the board are Cypress’s EZ-PD CCG2 (CYPD2134-24LQXIT) controller and On Semiconductor’s NCP81239 DC-DC Buck-Boost controller.

The CCG2 device handles USB Type-C interface, Power Delivery (PD) 2.0, QC 3.0, Cable compensation and primary Over Current Protection (OCP). The buck-boost conversion, Over Current Protection (OCP) and Over Voltage Protection (OVP) are handled by On Semiconductor’s NCP81239 DC-DC Buck-Boost controller. The board hardware design files (schematic, bill of materials, layout etc) are readily available below for customers to reduce the design cycle.
